(Dec. 01, 2011) The 2011 season has officially come and gone. As with every team, CCR had it's ups and downs this season. Starting the season with 5th, 1st, 6th, and 5th place showings at the Chili Bowl. Chris went on to get his first top 10 in a winged car two months later, then qualified 14th out of 37 cars in his first USAC race. As things continued to improve on the track, Chris struggled to maintain the sponsorship needed, off the track. Eventually Chris fell two races short of completing the 2011 ASCS Gulf South Tour. Chris is not deterred however, focusing equally on business and racing, looking into 2012.
Chris shared his thoughts - "Everybody in racing knows how difficult it can be to obtain and keep sponsors. So you have invest yourself, personally and financially to make it happen. Right now I'm focused on business. Come February, hopefully I will be focused on the racing.
It's Jimmy V week on ESPN. Jim Valvano gave one of the best speeches I've ever seen, just weeks before cancer took him. The last words of that speech will always stick with me. 'DON'T GIVE UP. DON'T EVER GIVE UP' - Jim Valvano"
