Cameron Weaver joins Hunt the Front Super Dirt Series for 2024

Cameron Weaver, the 25-year-old son of three-time Southern All Stars champion Randy Weaver, will chase the Hunt the Front Super Dirt Series this season Randy Weaver confirmed on Monday. The Crossville, Tenn,, native slides into the seat of the Laurel, Miss.-based Henderson Motorsports Longhorn vacated at the end of the 2023 season by Billy Moyer Jr. of Batesville, Ark.

The Leon Henderson-owned team, which won the 2023 Comp Cams Super Dirt Series championship with Moyer, will chase both a championship and a rookie-of-the-year title on the Hunt the Front tour with Cameron Weaver.

Cameron, a standout in the Crate Late Model ranks with 24 career wins, joins the team after completing a limited schedule last season. He notched one victory in 10 starts while registering three top-five finishes. That came on the heels of two outstanding seasons. Cameron grabbed seven wins and 16 top-five finishes in 48 starts in 2022. In 2021 he picked up a career-high $10,040 triumph in the J.T. Kerr Memorial for Crate Late Models at 411 Motor Speedway in Seymour, Tenn., part of a 10-win season in just 28 starts.

The 2020 Crate Late Model track champion at his hometown Crossville Speedway, Cameron embarks on his first full season behind the wheel of a Super Late Model. He’ll also tackle a regional points championship for the first time ever. In doing so, he’ll have help from Henderson’s long-time crew chief Robert Wayne Baker and the team’s primary sponsor L&D Trucking, along with J&J Motorsports, Ted Brown Quality Paint & Body and Martel Sign Company, where Cameron is employed. The Longhorn machine will be powered by a Cornett Thunder Racing Engine.

Cameron and Henderson kick off their season with the Hunt the Front tour when the second-year series heads to Talladega Short Track in Eastaboga, Ala., on March 15-16.
