Weaver Competes with LOLMDS at Smoky Mountain
Cameron Weaver piloted the Ronnie Wyatt-owned No. 17 Longhorn Chassis Super Late Model into battle over the weekend in the inaugural Mountain Moonshine Classic at Smoky Mountain Speedway (Maryville, Tenn.).
A talent-laden field of 45 entries entered the event, and on Friday night the field was divided into twin $5,000-to-win programs at the 3/8-mile oval. Cameron earned the 22nd-starting position for his preliminary feature and advanced to a 12th-place finish.
Saturday's action was lined up based upon Friday's results, so Weaver started sixth in his heat race before slipping to a seventh-place finish. He was relegated to a b-main, where he started and finished sixth as his bid to race into the $50,000-to-win finale came to an early end.
