Beets repeats with Iron-Man Series at Ponderosa
Eli Beets conquered his third Valvoline Iron-Man Late Model Series event in the past month on Friday night. He piloted his TMC No. 109 C&C Specialized Trucking / Capital Race Car / Clements Racing Engine Super Late Model to the $7,500 triumph at Kentucky’s Ponderosa Speedway.
“We’ve got a really good racecar right now and got another win on Friday at Ponderosa (Speedway). On Saturday luck wasn’t on our side, but we are still proud of where we are at with our team,” Beets said. “We’d love to be at the Eldora Million this weekend, but unfortunately we aren’t going to be able to make it. We’re now preparing for the Lucas Oil (Late Model Dirt Series) weekend at Smoky Mountain Speedway.”
Eli Beets was back behind the wheel of his TMC Transportation No. 109 Late Model on Friday evening at Ponderosa Speedway (Junction City, Ky.) to compete with the Valvoline Iron-Man Northern Series in the Summer Sizzler.
With the second-fastest lap in time trials placing him on the front row for the feature, alongside Zack Dohm, Beets led wire-to-wire in the 40-lapper to claim his third-straight victory with the series.
He collected a $7,500 payday ahead of Dohm, Devin Gilpin, Dakotah Knuckles, and Michael Chilton.
On Saturday, Beets stopped at Richmond Raceway (Richmond, Ky.) for the XR Southern All Star (XR SAS) sanctioned Finn Watson Memorial.
Earning the ninth-starting position for the $7,500-to-win A-Main via preliminary events, Beets ran into mechanical issues early that forced him to retire. He was credited with a 15th-place finish.
