Crawley wins Parts Plus USCS Speedweek Round Four at I-30 Speedway

Little Rock, AR – May 28, 2009 - 2008 USCS Mid-South Thunder Tour regional Champion, Tim Crawley from nearby Benton, Arkansas led the final 21 laps of the 30-lap Parts Plus United Sprint Car Series Speedweek Round Four at I-30 Speedway in Little Rock, Arkansas on Thursday night. It was Crawley’s third USCS feature of the season over a talent-laden field of thirty-eight competitors from six states. Defending Parts Plus USCS National Champion, Terry Gray led the first two laps of the main event after starting outside the front row. On lap three, the 2008 I-30 Speedway Champion who started in the K&N Filters Pole Position raced past the veteran to lead laps three through nine with Gray and Crawley who started outside row two battling for second position. After a lap nine yellow Crawley passed both drivers to lead lap ten. Sturch and Gray challenged him for several laps with three wide racing all over the ¼ high banked racing surface, but Crawley was too strong and pulled away to the win. He survived several more caution periods with lots of heat on his rear bumper. Jesse Hockett from Warsaw, Missouri charged from eighth into second place before leaving the track with a serious oil leak Paul McMahan from Hendersonville, Tennessee raced from fifth place start into the runner-up spot at the end taking advantage of Hockett’s misfortunes. Nick Smith from Broken Bow, Oklahoma charged from an eleventh place to third place at the finish followed by Gray in the fourth position. Justin Sturch rounded out the top five. The next group was headed by Tommy Worley from Farmington, Missouri in sixth place. Worley started all the way back twentieth position. Lee Sowell from Nesbit, Mississippi finished seventh. Zach Pringle charged past thirteen cars to finish eighth in the main event. Speedweek Round Two feature winner, Anthony Nicholson from Bartlett, Tennessee finished in the ninth position and A. G. Raines from West Memphis, Arkansas rounded out the top ten. Terry Gray won the six-lap Parts Plus Power Dash. Gray also won the 10-lap Engler Machine and Tool First Heat Race that fiollowed. Shane Stewart from Bixby, Oklahoma raced to victory in the Butlerbuilt Second Heat. The Bar’s Leaks Third Heat Race was won by 2008 USCS Rookie of the Year, Anthony Nicholson. Another talented young gun, Chad Pitts from Little Rock, Arkansas won the Lunati Cranks Fourth Heat Race. Eventual feature winner Tim Crawley won the FSR Racing Fifth Heat. The RE Technologies B-Main #1 was won by 2008 USCS Trick or Treat Fall Nationals Champion, A.G Raines from West Memphis, Arkansas. March 21, 2009 USCS Malden Speedway Boot heel 200 Sprint Car Champion, Jerrod Hull from Sikeston, Missouri won the Dynotech B-Main #2. Tommy Worley, Jr. from Farmington, Missouri garnered the Lunati “Crank It Up” Award for his charge past fourteen cars in the A-Main event. The RE Technologies Rookie of race honors went to Justin Carver. The final two Parts Plus United Sprint Car Series Speedweek 2009 racing events are on Friday May 29th at Drew County Speedway in Monticello, Arkansas and the Speedweek 2009 mini-series wraps up with its’ finale at Greenville Speedway in Greenville, Mississippi on Saturday, May 30th .
