Inside Line Promotions – MESQUITE, Texas (March 22, 2016) – Josh Baughman is erasing the slate.

“We’ve had a rough start to the season so our mindset this week is that this is our first race of the season,” he said. “We want a clean slate and a clear mind.”

Baughman is coming off an 11th-place finish last Thursday at Heart O’ Texas Speedway in Waco, Texas, and a fifth-place result in a B Main on Saturday at Devil’s Bowl Speedway during the season-opening weekend for the Lucas Oil ASCS National Tour.

“We’re making some changes this week with our program to get it better,” he said. “We can’t find a balance. I can’t get comfortable. Hopefully we can turn things around this weekend.”

Baughman will compete with the ASCS National Tour on Friday at Cotton Bowl Speedway in Paige, Texas, where he made his debut earlier this season racing with the World of Outlaws Craftsman Sprint Car Series.

“It’s a quarter-mile track with a wall all around it,” he said. “When we were there with the Outlaws the track had a curb with a lot of moisture. I’ve seen a lot of videos where it’s slick. I think it helps us having gone there with the Outlaws. We kind of know what to expect.”

Baughman will wrap up this weekend on Saturday at Bronco Raceway Park in Cleveland, Texas, where he has never competed.

“A couple of regional guys have been there so they’ll have the advantage,” he said. “We’re going in there with the mindset to get a good finish. Our goal this weekend is to finish and to make every lap.”
