Cowan brothers tackle World Finals at The Dirt Track at Charlotte
Joining the World of Outlaws Case Late Model Series for their final weekend, both Haiden and Gavin Cowan entered their Super Late Models into competition at The Dirt Track at Charlotte (Concord, N.C.) for the first night of the World Finals.
On qualifying night, Gavin clicked off the fastest lap of the night with the 13th-quickest time in Thursday's group.
Making their first competitive laps on Thursday, Gavin started the evening strong but faded in his heat race and was unable to make the A-Main. Haiden experienced similar luck and did not make the main event.
For another $15,000-to-win show on Friday, both brothers made up significant positions in their B-Mains but came up just short of snagging an A-Main starting spot.
With Saturday's $25,000-to-win finale on tap, Haiden and Gavin recorded a pair of ninth-place finishes in their respective Last Chance Showdowns and missed the final feature of the weekend.
