Solid Weekend For Thiel

After getting rained out the first night at the Manitowoc County Speedway, the STM crew returned back Saturday with a lot of determination. Scotty picked a 9 pill and started on the pole of the heat race event. Not being able to grab control of the very dry slick track, Thiel lost a few spots and managed to take a third place finish. That would then set Thiel to start outside row seven (14th) for the 30 lap season finale A-main event. At the green, Scotty slowly picked off a few cars and drove very sensible for the beginning part of the race. About mid-way through the race, Thiel began to get on a mission and started to charge forward. With 9 laps to go, Scotty restarted in the sixth position and after getting the green, he charged ahead and took over the third spot going into turn number one. Thiel managed to obtain the third place position and took home another top 5 finish for the Complete Water Inc #64 Sprintcar. Scotty recieved the hard charger award for passing 11 cars!

Sunday morning the crew woke up and decided they wanted to go and race the local 410 show at the Wilmot Raceway in Wilmot, WI. The crew went and found some Goodyear tires and began to get the car ready for some wild 410 racing action. Scotty drew a 15 pill and that set him third for the heat race event. After several showers popped up, the track was very fast but rough as well, making it very difficult for all the cars and especially the 360's. Scotty held his own in the heat race but fell to the fifth position on the last lap, but still managed to obtain the final transfer spot for the A-main event. Thiel would then start in the 14th position for the main. After taking the green, Scotty picked off a few cars and found himself sitting in the 9th position on a caution mid-way through the event. After taking the green flag again, Scotty struggled with the cars handling problems and finished in the 14th spot. Thiel was kind of disapointed with the result of the night but overall was happy that he brought the car back in one piece, especially at a fast 410 show. Making the A-main event was another accomplishment in itself as well for the team.

Scotty and the entire STM team would like to thank their great sponsors: Complete Water Inc, Scott Thiel Builders, Advanced Compressor Technology, Rhey Graphics, Muehlbergs Fire Solutions, Fat Boys BBQ, Kaemmer Foods, Moyle Racing, Haven Bar & Grill, Premier Floors, Tri-Flow Lubricant, and Douglas Wheel Technology.

Up next on the STM schedule is Saturday is September 11th at the Sheboygan County Fairgrounds.
