Recapping the 2009 Season

Coming off the strong win on September 4th at the Manitowoc County Expo Speedway, the STM team only had a few races left. Mother nature took over a few of the remaining races and there was only two left. Dodge county, the "big beaver" they call it, was a new experience for Scotty. He ran a half mile before at Antigo last year but this track was a little bit different. The guys got the car pretty well set-up for Scotty and he managed to finish 7th from the 11th starting spot. The next stop was the Chilton Fall Invitational where the team sat in the rain for around five hours waiting to see whether or not racing was going to happen. They called the race at 11PM and the sprintcars would not run the next day. The next night was MSA Championship Night at the Plymouth Dirt Track, where they hosted an "All Wing Show", having mini-sprints, 360 sprint cars, and also 410 sprint cars. Scotty and the crew got the car ready and were preparing for a good night. Starting the heat race in forth, Scotty took the lead over on lap two and never looked back. After completing the seventh lap of the race, Scotty noticed something wrong with the motor, looked down at the gauges that were going haywire. There wasn't any oil pressure left and Scotty was forced to pull off the track. That completed the night of racing and also the season.

Overall the team this year is very excited for how everything turned out. They had a rough start with two flips in three weeks, followed by all sorts of motor issues. Still keeping good spirit, the team then came back for the second half of the season with mentality of winning every race. Completing the season Scotty took home 7 heat wins, 1 B-Main win, 1 A-Main win, along with 4 top 5's and 10 top 10's!

Plans for 2010 with the STM sprintcar will be a full force effort to win a MSA Championship. Sponsorship Opportunities are available for the #64 STM sprint car as well, and the STM team would like to give a special thanks to everyone that helped them out in the 2009 race season!
