Kyle Bellm Makes First World of Outlaws Starts this Weekend
Lonnie Wheatley, NIXA, Mo. (October 17, 2019) – Kyle Bellm looks to finish out the 2019 season on a positive note with his first career starts with the NOS Energy Drink World of Outlaws Sprint Car series this weekend.
Bellm will be in action aboard the No. 14k Sprint Car for Friday’s card at Lakeside Speedway in Kansas City, KS, and then Eldon, Missouri’s Lake Ozark Speedway on Saturday.
“This is something that we’ve looked forward to for a long time, we’re wanting to have a fun weekend to finish our year and then regroup for next season,” Bellm says.
Accomplished in the 360-ci ranks, Bellm made his first 410-ci start in late August at Farmington, Missouri’s St. Francois County Raceway and rallied from the tail of the field to post a top-ten finish.
Bellm’s first WoO appearance comes on the heels of two weekends of ASCS action including I-30 Speedway’s Short Track Nationals in Little Rock, AR, on October 4-5 and then Creek County Speedway’s Fall Fling in Sapulpa, OK, last Saturday.
Battling amongst a field of 70 Short Track Nationals, Bellm raced to a 12th-place finish in the Friday night preliminary before getting caught up in a Saturday “B” Main incident that brought an early end to the evening.
“On Friday night, we were just one mistake away from being a top-five car,” Bellm says. “Then on Saturday, nothing was clean all night. We had various problems each time out and then I had to make a move in the ‘B’ and it knocked the front end out.”
Lady Luck wasn’t riding with Bellm at Saturday’s Fall Fling.
“We drew bad and never got out of the hole,” Bellm explains.
Bellm looks to finish out the season on a positive note.
“We’re going the right direction with the car and really looking forward to this weekend,” Bellm sums up.
