Bellm Back in Action with Pair of Events in Missouri this Weekend

Lonnie Wheatley, NIXA, Mo. (June 6, 2018) – After an idle weekend, Kyle Bellm and the No. 14k Sprint Car team are set to be back on track this weekend with a pair of events in the “Show Me” State.

On Friday night, Bellm and the Greenworks Nursery/Landscapes Awarded Sprint Car team will join in on ASCS Warrior Region action at U.S. 36 Raceway near Cameron, MO. Then on Saturday night, action shifts to Eldon, Missouri’s Lake Ozark Speedway for the Christian County Collision Repair/Bybee Lawn Care entry.

“We just need to get into a rhythm and start finishing consecutive races,” the Nixa, MO racer explained. “We haven’t been able to do that lately.”

After breaking out of the gates to start the season well aboard the PPG Automotive Finishes/Colorvision machine, mechanical issues have cut several strong runs short in recent weeks.

“We have had good speed and a good car, there has just been some minor problems that were enough to cut a couple of nights short,” Bellm comments.

Bellm’s outing at U.S. 36 Raceway on Friday night will be the first time aboard the family-owned VP Racing Fuels/Schure Built Suspensions/Schaeffers Racing Oil entry atop the high-banked, high-speed oval, though he has put together some strong runs in the past aboard other entries.

“Hopefully we can draw well and get in a good position for the feature,” Bellm says. “I’ve had some good runs from the back at U.S. 36, we just need to get through our heat in good shape to have a better shot at a win.”

Saturday brings a return to a track that Bellm has enjoyed success at. Less than two weeks ago, Bellm was on the march from 14th and well into the top five midway through the 40-lap feature when mechanical gremlins cut the night short.

After time off to regroup and refresh, Bellm and crew are ready to knock down that first win of the 2018 season after posting a pair of top-fives in the opening four events of the year.

2018 Quick Stats: 11 races, 2 top-fives, 4 top-tens.

Up Next: ASCS Warrior Region at U.S. 36 Raceway (Cameron, MO) on Friday night and weekly competition at Lake Ozark Speedway (Eldon, MO) on Saturday night.
