Parker Martin begins 2024 World of Outlaws tour at Volusia Speedway Park
Kicking off his 2024 World of Outlaws Case Late Model Series rookie campaign, Parker Martin made the trip to Volusia Speedway Park (De Leon Springs, Fla.) on Friday afternoon for the DIRTcar Sunshine Nationals opener after Thursday's event fell to heavy rain storms.
With a stacked 59-car field on hand, Martin struggled in qualifying but picked up the speed in his heat race by going from eighth-to-fifth. Still needing to transfer to the feature through a B-Main, Parker was unable to crack into the A-Main with a fourth-place finish.
Looking to make the $15,000-to-win finale on Saturday, Parker once again found himself in a Last Chance Showdown. Starting from the third-row, Martin was battling for a transfer spot until falling back to fourth late in the race. Parker was unable to make the A-Main starting lineup.
