Parker Martin attends Colossal 100 at Charlotte

Parker Martin returned with the XR Super Series on Wednesday afternoon at The Dirt Track at Charlotte (Concord, N.C.) for the inaugural Colossal 100.

In a stout field of 47 cars for four consecutive nights of racing, Parker jumped up one spot in his heat race to finish eighth, sending him into the B-Main. Transferring the top-three into the opening night feature, Martin gained three positions to finish fifth.

For another $25,000-to-win A-Main on Thursday night, Martin’s fourth-place finish in his heat race relegated him into the B-Main. Needing to place second or better to make the show, Parker came one spot shy with a third-place outing.

After losing Friday night’s event to Mother Nature, Parker came in fifth in his heat race on Saturday, giving him one final shot at the $50,000-to-win Colossal 100 finale with a B-Main appearance. Locking in the top-two, Martin’s night was over after placing fifth.
