Hagar Seeking Second Straight Win at I-30 Speedway This Saturday

Inside Line Promotions – MARION, Ark. (Aug. 12, 2020) – Derek Hagar is aiming for his fifth feature triumph of the season this Saturday when he ventures to I-30 Speedway.

Hagar invades the high-banked oval in Little Rock, Ark., as part of the ASCS Sprint Week. It will mark his first race since winning at the track on July 25.

“We were able to go out and show a lot of speed,” he said. “We haven’t done a lot of consecutive racing this year like we normally do.”

Hagar has only been able to race a half dozen times since the pandemic hit in the middle of March. However, he’s made the most of the opportunities by winning four times and finishing second in another race.

“That weighs on my mind not racing and other guys getting to stay in the seat,” he said. “That bothers me during the week, but when I strap my helmet on it’s back to game on.”

Hagar said he anticipates his schedule will pick up during the final couple of months of the season.

“I just counted and I think we have 15 races to go,” he said. “We’re looking forward to getting more races under our belt and hopefully we can continue the same success rate.”
