Hagar Wins at Talladega Short Track to Score 15th Victory of the Season

Inside Line Promotions – EASTABOGA, Ala. (Oct. 11, 2016) – Derek Hagar visited Victory Lane last Saturday with the USCS Series at Talladega Short Track.

“It was a pretty good weekend,” he said. “We got ourselves another win, making 15 for the season.”

Hagar’s night started with winning the dash from the pole position. He finished in the top six at the most recent USCS show so he was automatically entered in the dash. Hagar also won a heat race after starting in the third position.

“We started third in the second heat race, took the lead on the second lap and won the heat,” he said. “That made me the high point man.”

The random draw for the feature inversion was a zero, which kept Hagar on the pole for the main event.

“Marshall Skinner got out around me and led for about eight laps,” he said. “I made a run on him and got by him. I led for the remainder of the race and held on for the win.”

Hagar looks to use the remainder of the year to beat his career-best mark of 16 wins in a season.

“We’re trying to top our season best,” he said. “We got 16 wins a couple years ago. We’ve got a couple more shows to do it.”

Hagar will be racing this Friday and Saturday at Clayhill Motorsports in Atwood, Tenn., with the USCS Series.
