Mother Nature Sweeps the Weekend
With severe storms engaging the area Friday and Saturday, Eric Schulz was only able to get one heat race in at Rapid Speedway. “There was a pretty wicked sky over the track as we were setting up for the feature. Soon an official swung by and told us to pack up and get out!” Explained Schulz. That means that there will be twin features for Eric Schulz Racing next week in Rock Rapids, with Schulz starting in tenth, it should be a good show as he battles his way to the front.
Saturday was a different story. Schulz hadn’t even left his cozy home in Sioux Falls SD, on his trip to Jackson MN to drive the number 4 360 winged sprint owned by Dick and Cathy Veenkers out of Windom MN, and the phone rang instructing him to stay home. “I wasn’t surprised to hear the races were cancelled in Jackson, they got the same storm as Rock Rapids.”
Eric will patiently wait out the week, suit up, and try to beat mother nature next week returning to Rapid Speedway on the 2nd of July for the twin features and fireworks. Then it is off to Jackson Speedway to pilot the red number 4 for Dick and Cathy.
