Magic Men

Zach Daum won one of Western Australia’s most prestigious races taking victory at the Magic Man 34. Daum was brought to Australia by the Graham Racing Development outfit and was thankful that he was able to produce results with the GRD prepared EAGLE midget. “I’m honored to win it and I can’t say enough about these guys and to be the last Magic Man.” The Magic Man 34 race pays tribute to the late Speedcar legend Michael Figliomeni, who passed away in the pits of Perth Motorplex after a heart attack during a race event. This year’s Tenth Anniversary will be the final running of the memorial.

Taking little time to return to Lucas Oil ASCS National Tour Victory Lane, John Carney II garnered his 13th overall victory of the season this past weekend by winning the John Christner Trucking Fall Fling at Creek County Speedway in Sapulpa, OK. The driver of the Lubbock Wrecker No. 11x EAGLE locked into Saturday’s A-Feature and took full advantage of the top starting spot. John and the entire Lubbock Wrecker Service team would like to extend a special thank you to everyone who helped with the Fall Fling.
“That was a neat race, and I can’t thank everyone who helped enough. Emmett, ASCS, all the sponsors, and especially everyone who sponsored a lap. That extra support means a lot to the whole team. I especially want to thank Scott Brown for letting me drive his car.”

There’s no doubt that Drew Gessner knows more about a Sprintcar from the outside looking in. However, that wasn’t enough at Maryborough Speedway to deny him of the feature-race victory in the 360 Sprintcars. Driving the Qld # 68 EAGLE car owned by Toowoomba-based racer Matthew Butler in what was the first appearance of the East Coast 360 Sprintcars for the 2016-17 season. Gessner, who is a renowned Sprintcar crew chief and with limited Sprintcar driving experience to fall back on, showed them the way throughout the feature race and came away with what the win.
