KC Sparks was among twenty-one drivers registered in the Box Stock class at English Creek Speedway for week two of the season. For qualifying, Sparks went out earlier in the field and pulled off a 12.833 second lap to qualify second quick on the day behind Nikki Ballard.
During the pit meeting, the class was directly told to wait in starts until the white line in turn three before getting up to speed. Unfortunately, several drivers did not heed the warning and ended up with a DQ in their heat races, including Sparks.
The DQs set up a strong field in the B feature battling for one of the top four spots to transfer to the A. Sparks started tenth and after a couple cautions was able to move into second but was unable to track down winner, Tommy Tanner. Making the transfer with Tanner and Sparks was Paxton Benge and Nolan Freeman.
The initial start saw a multi kart incident in turn two bring out the caution and force a complete restart with only Freeman falling out of the event.
The action was fast and karts were moving through the field quickly. At the end of lap two Kaden Rice was leading Nikki Ballard with Sparks moving up to sixth from his twelvth starting spot. Sparks battled with Brantley Tjaden for several laps before making the pass for fifth but a caution flew before crossing the line to secure the position.
Under the caution, Sparks suffered a fueling issue that was later discovered to be a broken fuel filter that had been hit by a dirt clod or rock and was resigned to the infield with a DNF and scored in 13th position.
RIce went on to take the victory in the fifteen lap event. Tanner raced his way from the B through the field to claim second position. Ballard held on for third with Jaden ALexander fighting his way into fourth. Tjaden held his position in fifth at the checkers. Cruz Dickerson, Bentley Long, Peyton Langlois, Alex Sutton, and Paxton Benge were the top ten.
