Bakker closes Sioux Speedway with win
Gregg Bakker led all 20 laps of Thursday’s MSTS 9th Annual Sprint Car Showdown at Sioux Speedway.
The #11X led at the drop of the green and checked out, but a pair of late race cautions gave Wayne Johnson a couple of shots at the top spot, but Bakker would prevail. Just behind Johnson, Eric Lutz crossed the line third. Lutz was running fifth with five to go but found speed to take two spots in the closing laps. Lee Grosz was fifth ahead of Mason Daniel.
Bakker, Lutz and Chuck McGillivray won the heat races.
MSTS joins Nebraska 360s and Midwest Power Series Friday at Jackson Motorplex before Tuesday’s Randy Droescher Memorial at Rapid Speedway.
