OHSWEKEN, Ont. (July 14, 2023) – Mike Bowman has wasted little time getting up to speed in Sprint Cars. The local Modified star took his first career 360 Sprint Car win on Friday night at Ohsweken Speedway, and the $4,010 Tammy Ten/Little Ben Night winner's cheque.

Mitch Brown started on pole for the race which honoured both his grandfather Harold (Little Ben 1-10) and Harvey Lennox (Tammy 10), while Holly Porter started alongside to start the 25 lap 360 Sprint Car A-Main. A caution flag appeared on the first lap due to Tyeller Powless clipping the wall and coming to a stop. Ryan Turner capitalized on the restart, quickly taking the lead away from Brown, however Brown reclaimed the lead on the following lap. The battle between the two drivers raged on until Ryan Turner retook the lead midway through the race.

The second caution of the race came out due to Mike Bowman getting tangled up with traffic on lap thirteen. Bowman was able to continue though and took full advantage of the restart, claiming the lead for himself and building a gap of over 2.5 seconds over second place.

Bowman became the star of the show, picking up his very first 360 Sprint Car win and the $4,010 Tammy Ten/Little Ben winner’s prize thanks to Tammy Ten Media, Nitro 54 Variety, and Ohsweken Speedway. Next to cross the finish line was Ryan Tuner in second, Dylan Westbrook third, Brown fourth, and D.J. Christie fifth.

Ryan Turner claimed the $100 Ackland Insurance Quick Time award, while Josh Hansen took the $150 Trailer Pros Canada Hard Charger award.

Dylan Westbrook now has a 17 point advantage over Ryan Turner in the Tammy 10 Media SOS Championship standings heading into the next SOS event on July 29 at Southern Ontario Motor Speedway. Visit www.southernontariomotorspeedway.com and www.southernontariosprints.ca for more information.
