Troutman back in Bedford victory lane with Modified
Drake Troutman entered his Super Late Model and Modified into battle at Bedford Speedway (Bedford, Pa.) on Friday afternoon for the Bob Elbin Tribute.
With 15 Late Models on hand, Troutman laid down a 19.046-second lap in time trials to claim the fast time honors before placing first in his heat. Earning the second-starting position for the $5,000-to-win A-Main, Drake hung onto a seventh-place finish after breaking a shock bolt early in the 40-lapper.
In his Modified, Troutman pulled off a clean sweep after following up heat win with a flag-to-flag victory in the feature. He notched his 11th triumph of the season ahead of Brandon Hoover, Donnie Farling, Travis Cottle, and Brandon Householder.
On Saturday afternoon at Winchester Speedway (Winchester, Va.), Drake was an early exit from the Modified feature but muscled forward two spots in the Late Model feature to finish second. He followed Trever Feathers across the line with Scott Palmer rounding out the podium.
For the Frank Sagi Tribute on Sunday at Hagerstown Speedway (Hagerstown, Md.), Troutman took part in his heat in his Late Model but was a scratch from the B-Main.
In his Modified, Drake followed up a heat race victory with a second-place finish in the feature, trailing Michael Altobelli Jr.
