Troutman competes in Late Model at Williams Grove and Port Royal

Friday night saw Drake Troutman return to the Super Late Model ranks at Williams Grove Speedway (Mechnanicsburg, Pa.) for the Zimmer’s United Late Model Southern Series sanctioned contest. In a field of 22 cars, Drake followed up the 13th fastest time in qualifying with a third-place finish in his heat. Starting the $3,000-to-win A-Main in seventh, Troutman got collected in a tangle with another competitor while battling for a podium finish that dropped him back to 15th. The following night at Port Royal Speedway (Port Royal, Pa.), Troutman posted a fourth-place finish in his heat, which positioned him 16th on the starting grid for the feature. With $3,000 on the line, Drake was challenging for a top-10 spot early in the 25-lapper but fell back to a 15th-place outing when the checkered flag flew.
