Drake Troutman
Another event, another trip to victory lane for Troutman at Potomac
Drake Troutman pushed his 2021-win total to double digits on Saturday after topping the Renegades of Dirt Series event at Maryland’s Potomac Speedway. Troutman’s 10th win of 2021 came behind the wheel of his Smith Transport / RFI Resources No. 7 MB Customs Race Car / Lasalle Racing Engine Modified.
With the $2,000 win, Drake extended his advantage atop the Renegades of Dirt Modified Tour standings.
“We are off to a dream start to the year. Our cars, our motors, and our sponsors are giving us everything we need to win every time we hit the track,” Troutman said. “We’re going to keep digging deep though, because we are racing against some really tough competition, each-and-every night, and I know they’ll continue to get faster as well.”
With an unfavorable forecast wiping out Friday night’s opener at Roaring Knob Motorsports Complex (Markleysburg, Pa.), Drake Troutman headed to Potomac Speedway (Budds Creek, Md.) on Saturday afternoon to compete with the Renegades of Dirt Modified Tour.
Finishing second in his heat race, Troutman locked into the third-starting position for the A-Main. Overtaking Rick Hulson for the lead on the second lap, Drake dominated the remaining distance of the 20-lapper to record his 10th win of the season. He finished ahead of Brett Hamilton, Brent Bordeaux, Hulson, and Paul Washington.
