Paul McMahan and Destiny Motorsports Have Strong Week

PETERSEN MEDIA: Hard work is continuing to pay off for Paul McMahan and Destiny Motorsports, as the team recorded finishes of fifth and seventh place last week with the World of Outlaws.

“We had a little bit of bad luck to start out week off at Rockford Speedway, but the guys stayed the course, and we turned it into a pretty good week overall for our team,” Paul McMahan said.

With clay going down on the Rockford Speedway to host The World of Outlaws Craftsman Sprint Car Series, McMahan would see bad luck get him in time trials as a part failure would see him get upside down and record no time during time trials.

Lining the MonDak Portables/Ft. Union Supply and Trading/Benic Enterprises No. 7 machine up ninth in his heat race, the Nashville, TN driver had his elbows up as he carved his way forward to finish in the fifth spot. By way of his heat race finish, McMahan would line up 13th in the feature event.

On a track that was rough and slick and pretty tricky, McMahan was able to put together a good showing as he worked his way through the field. Even with his right-rear tire going flat in the latter stages of the race, McMahan would finish in the seventh spot.

Heading to the Badlands Motor Speedway in Brandon, SD on Saturday night, McMahan would get things kicked off by timing in ninth fastest in his flight, before a fourth place finish in his heat race would line him up 13th in the feature event.

On a track that was wide and fast, McMahan was able to work his way forward as he worked through traffic. An entertaining race would see McMahan work his way through the Top-10, and into the Top-Five late in the race. Fending off challenges from Jason Sides and Donny Schatz, McMahan would hang on to finish in the fifth spot.

Sunday night would see McMahan time in fifth fastest in his qualifying flight before a fourth place finish in his heat race would line him up in the seventh row for the 40-lap A Main event. On this night, McMahan wasn’t able to get a big run going like he had been able to during the two previous nights.

Battling with Kerry Madsen, Jason Johnson, and Sweet at times during the feature event, the California native would close his weekend out with a 15th place finish.

“We struggled a little bit on Sunday night, but we had two really good nights of racing on Wednesday and Saturday, I thought,” McMahan added. “Our cars continue to feel better, and I think we are getting there. It has been a trying year at times, but thankfully I have great car owners and partners who continue to stick with us.”

Destiny Motorsports would like to thank MonDak Portables, Ft. Union Supply and Trading, Benic Enterprises, Rick Rogers Construction, Maxim Chassis, Boss Signs and Graphics, Driver Websites, Petersen Media, FK Rod Ends, Walker Performance Filtration, KSE Racing Products, ButlerBuilt, Simpson Race Products, Parker Engines, Keizer Wheels, DMI, Red Devil Brakes, Champion Oil, All Pro Cylinder Heads, Astro Titanium, and Hoosier Tire for their continued support.
