David Gravel Charges To Top-10 at Berlin Raceway

PETERSEN MEDIA: David Gravel and his Destiny Motorsports team took to the Eldora Speedway on Friday night at the Berlin Raceway on Saturday night, where Gravel was able to race his way to a Top-10 finish.

“We struggled a little bit over the weekend, but we were able to work hard close out our weekend with a nice Top-10 run,” David Gravel said.

The World of Outlaws were in action at the Eldora Speedway on Friday night, and Gravel got his weekend underway by timing the MonDak Portables/Ft. Union Supply and Trading/Benic Enterprises No. 7 machine in eighth fastest.

Finishing sixth in his heat race, Gravel would make a stop in the Last Chance Showdown, which he would win, and move into the 30-lap A Main event. Lining up in the fifth row, Gravel would search all over the Eldora Speedway looking for grip.

Trying everything he could to get into the racetrack, Gravel would slowly slip back in what was a non-stop affair as he finished in the 14th spot.

“We just couldn’t make any grip in the feature, and it made for a long race,” Gravel said. “With the race going non-stop I tried searching around to get us going in the right direction, but we were just a little off.”

Heading to Berlin, MI on Saturday night, Gravel would time in 14th fastest before finishing seventh in his heat race. Lining up third in the night’s Last Chance Showdown, Gravel would finish in the third spot and earn a spot in the feature event.

Gridding the field from the seventh row, Gravel was able to get the Rick Rogers Construction/Maxim Chassis/Boss Signs and Graphics entry moving forward, as he raced his way towards the Top-10.

Racing by Joey Saldana and Ryan Ruhl, Gravel would move into the Top-10 as he looked for more. Late in the race, Gravel would move into the ninth spot as he chased after Steve Kinser who ran just ahead of him in the closing laps.

Unable to get by ‘The King’, Gravel would close his weekend out with a ninth place finish.

“We struggled early on Saturday night, but everyone kept working and we got the car a ton better for the A,” Gravel said. “It was nice to work forward and get a Top-10, and I have to thank everyone on this team for their continued support.”

Destiny Motorsports would like to thank MonDak Portables, Ft. Union Supply and Trading, Benic Enterprises, Rick Rogers Construction, Maxim Chassis, Boss Signs and Graphics, Rod End Supply, Driver Websites, Petersen Media, GME Manufacturing, ButlerBuilt, Simpson Race Products, Parker Engines, Keizer Wheels, DMI, Red Devil Brakes, Champion Oil, All Pro Cylinder Heads, Astro Titanium, and Hoosier Tire for their support in 2015.

ON TAP: Destiny Motorsports and David Gravel are now set for the National Open that takes place at the Williams Grove Speedway this Thursday, Friday, and Saturday night.
