Nick Ford Begins Sophomore Run In Late Models Saturday
Nick Ford has plenty of experience racing at Redwood Acres Raceway. Between the track’s roadrunner and mini stock divisions, Ford as turned as many laps as anyone in the past several seasons.
Ford’s chance of winning this Saturday’s Rhododendron 100 are long given his lack of late model experience but it’s not a far fetched chance of him having a great finish. Last season, Ford began his first full year at the wheel of a late model and did a very respectable job last scoring one top five finish and placing fifth in the final standings. More importantly, Ford kept his race car clean all season long and was able to get good finishes thanks to his patience and intelligence behind the wheel.
Legends, bombers, mini stocks and roadrunners will join the late models for the Rhododendron 100 this Saturday April 29. Tickets are $10 and can be purchased at Automasters in Eureka, Don’s Rent-All in Eureka, McKinleyville Barbershop and JC Auto in Fortuna. Tickets can also be purchased on RacinTheAcres.com or at the gate on race day. Grandstands open at 4:00 while racing will begin at 5:30. The event will also be live streamed on RacinTheAcres.tv and Speedsport.tv.
