TBJ Promotions, RacinBoys Bring ASCS Back to Lakeside Speedway on May 8
Inside Line Promotions – KANSAS CITY, Kan. (Dec. 19, 2013) – The Lucas Oil ASCS National Tour is returning to the fast confines of Lakeside Speedway next season.
TBJ Promotions and co-promoter Scott Traylor of RacinBoys are bringing the premier 360ci sprint car series to the high-banked track on Thursday, May 8, which is during the NASCAR weekend in the Kansas City area.
“The big things whenever we choose where we have a big race are facilities that are top notch and a track that produces great action,” TBJ Promotions Founder Tony Bruce Jr. said. “Lakeside Speedway fits both. With it being NASCAR weekend nearby, hopefully we will get a lot of new people exposed to sprint car racing.”
It will mark only the third Lucas Oil ASCS National Tour event at Lakeside Speedway and the first since 2008.
“I raced at Lakeside Speedway and grew up going to the old Lakeside Speedway in the ‘60s,” Traylor said. “I won a lot of races there when it was a pavement track. I love that place. When they put dirt on it, it made it the premier dirt track in this area. Also, if you can get a date that close to the NASCAR Sprint Cup weekend when you have guys like Tony Stewart, Kasey Kahne and Ricky Stenhouse Jr. who are sprint car enthusiasts that race on the tour, it goes hand in hand.”
