Four Top Fives During USA vs. WA Speedweek!

Brian Brown – Four Top Fives During USA vs. WA Speedweek!

(Bill W) January 4, 2017 – Brian Brown has four races and a week under his belt in Australia with the Wormall Civil/FVP/Casey’s General Stores team. Four top six finishes highlighted the week, as the team got acquainted in the USA vs. Western Australia Speedweek at Quit Bunbury City Speedway and Perth Motorplex in Western Australia. After qualifying just 14th quick and finishing sixth in the opener a week ago Monday at Bunbury, he went on to finish fourth at Perth Tuesday, third at Bunbury Friday and fifth at Perth Sunday. He also registered quick time in the finale.

How did the first week go for you?

Overall was a pretty solid week for our Wormall Civil/FVP/Casey’s General Stores team. We would have liked to get a win during speedweek but with a new team in Wormall Motorsport as well as my crew chief for Australia, Steven Tiner, I felt we gelled great.

You definitely moved forward in just about every event.

We got better every single time we hit the track and that's all you can ask for.

It looked like you were dialed in on Sunday in Perth.

We really felt like we had the speed to win the final night after setting quick time and winning our heat, but narrow track conditions in the final didn't pan out the way we had hoped.

It looks like the competition is going to ramp up this week. You guys are heading east to Murray Bridge for a round with the USC-SA.

We’re really looking forward to heading east and competing on Saturday. I have to really give a big special thanks to Wormall Civil for the massive effort they have put out in bringing us over. And, of course, thanks to Steven Tiner and Michael Williams for all their hard work.

It looked like Speedweek was quite an event.

I’d like to thanks the great fans and track promoters at Bunbury and Perth for the awesome hospitality during USA vs. WA Speedweek.
