Thornton tops Budweiser Nationals finale at Bakersfield
Dylan Thornton returned to his roots over the weekend as he trekked to Bakersfield (CA) Speedway for the 38th annual Budweiser Nationals.
Moving forward in his heat race and Friday’s preliminary feature, Dylan backed up a third-place finish in his heat with an 11th-to-4th run in the 25-lap A-Main.
In a sweep on Saturday night, Thornton picked up a pair of preliminary wins in his heat and the dash before capturing his 16th victory of the 2024 campaign in the 40-lap feature. He soared ahead of Austin Kiefer on lap 25 and bested Friday’s winner Gavyn Manning to the checkered flag.
