Thornton finishes seventh in MLRA's Hawkeye Land 40 at Cedar County
Dylan Thornton kicked off a tripleheader weekend in three divisions with a trip to Cedar County Raceway (Tipton, IA) on Thursday evening for the Lucas Oil Midwest LateModel Racing Association-sanctioned Hawkeye Land 40.
Competing in the Kay Motorsports Late Model and his Modified, Thornton followed up a 10th-place finish in the Modified ranks with a seventh-place finish the $5,000-to-win MLRA event.
In dual Modified features on Friday at Maquoketa (IA) Speedway for the Kelly Meyer Challenge, Dylan recorded a pair of top-10’s. He came in 10th in the first round before crossing the line in seventh in the second feature.
On Saturday, Thornton trekked to Deer Creek Speedway (Spring Valley, Minn.) but wasn’t able to transfer into the $10,000-to-win Stock Car Nationals A-Main.
