First Feature Win of 2007 Season
4/27/2007 - Kaley Gharst: What a weekend of racing for this young man. Beginning Friday night in the Sprint Invader series with his first feature win of the season. The Kid put on one heck of a show for the packed stands at the Lee County Raceway. Starting sixth in the A-Main and taking the lead on lap 4 never to look back while lapping up to 5th place in the 25 lapper. Saturday wasn’t as good in the 410 at Knoxville. Fighting the motor gremlins Kaley had to sit this one out. As the three day weekend was winding down the Tri-Star Motorsports Maxim headed onto Sedalia for another 360 show, this one with the WOW series. The night started off good beginning 6th in the heat race and finished 2nd. He was DQ’d though for not reporting to the scales. The Kid now had a big hill to climb. Starting 13th in the B-Main and knowing they were only taking the top 4 to the A-Main Kaley was on a mission. When the dust cleared the 3* Wesmar/Maxim had passed 11 cars finishing 2nd. Now after climbing that hill the young gun was now looking at a mountain to climb. Starting 18th in the A-Main and with the Dude on the pole Kaley put on a show for the crowd passing 14 cars in the 20 lap non-stop action race. While running down 3rd place his motor began having problems but he was able to hold onto to fourth until the checkered flag came down.
Tri-Star Motorsports and Wesmar/Maxim had a great weekend of racing
