Kaleb Johnson Excited to Race 360 Sprint Cars Exclusively in 2020

Inside Line Promotions – SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (Feb. 25, 2020) – Kaleb Johnson is eagerly anticipating a schedule that focuses exclusively on 360ci winged sprint car competition this year.

“Our whole team is excited about this,” said Johnson, who primarily campaigned a 305ci winged sprint car the previous four years while adding some runs in a 360 sprint car the last two seasons. “It’s something we’ve wanted to do for about a year or so, but the timing wasn’t quite right. But we feel now is the time. I feel I’m ready as a driver and now we definitely have the right people behind us to make this move.”

Johnson has a solid racing schedule planned for the year centered on competing with the Midwest Power Series. He’ll kick off the season at I-80 Speedway in Greenwood, Neb., April 3-4 during a two-day event with the Carpet Land Nebraska 360 Sprints. Major events on the slate include the 360 Knoxville Nationals in August and the 360 Jackson Nationals in September.

“We have about 30-to-32 races scheduled,” he said. “It’s nothing too crazy, but still a fair number of races for around here. We’re planning on running the entire Midwest Power Series. Then we’ll fill in their off dates with racing at Knoxville and with the MSTS, Nebraska 360 Sprints or some other series that fits our schedule.”

Johnson is grateful for the racing experience he gained in the 305s. He plans to carry that and knowledge he gained in running a limited 360 schedule last year to this season.

“Last year was my fourth year racing 305s,” he said. “I really enjoyed racing them and we learned a lot. But I’ve always just wanted to race 360s full-time and I’m glad to be able to do that this year.

“I feel good about our chances of doing well this year. We were usually competitive in the 360 races we ran last year. We have some good notes from last year that should help. I also think we have the motor to run well.”

In other news, Johnson has added Schaeffer Oil as a team partner this season.
