Swindell Bound for Devil’s Bowl to Tackle ASCS National Tour Doubleheader

Inside Line Promotions – WEST MEMPHIS, Ark. (Oct. 15, 2018) – Sammy Swindell will join the Lucas Oil ASCS National Tour presented by SawBlade.com this weekend when the series invades Devil’s Bowl Speedway.
The doubleheader marks the third visit of the season to the half-mile oval in Mesquite, Texas, for Swindell and car owner A.G. Rains, who charged from 14th to sixth in March before recording a runner-up result in June.
“I’ve always liked it because both ends of the track are different,” Swindell said. “It doesn’t make your setup or your driving as easy. I like the challenge.
“You always have to have a good car, but it’s about paying attention to the track and racing the corners the way they are. It’s tight getting into turn one and then you’re going uphill. Sometimes you have to turn the car. At the other end you let it go until you get to the end of turn four and you have to make a left there.”
Swindell has been victorious at the track in the 1970s, 1980s, 1990s, 2000s and 2010s. He has a dozen career World of Outlaws Craftsman Sprint Car Series triumphs there along with ASCS National Tour victories in 1995 and 2010.
Swindell and Rains competed last weekend at Riverside International Speedway during the 10th annual USCS Fall Nationals and Flip Flop 54. The action began on Friday with Swindell advancing from eighth to sixth place in a heat race. However, Saturday’s twin features were postponed because of wet weather.
