Tyler Driever 13th after a solid Night with Red Bluff Outlaws

Tyler Driever and his team made the trek to Red Bluff, CA from Meridian, ID over the weekend to compete in Red Bluff Outlaws Points Race #10. The team is preparing for the upcoming West Coast Nationals by trying to get as much track time on the tight bullring as possible. This trip worked out great for them as Tyler showed great speed all night long and put the Project Filter #33T into the Main Event.
The evening began with Time Trials for the field of 28 drivers in the Open Class. Tyler would time in near mid-pack in the 16th position overall with a Lap Time of 8.554 seconds. Qualifying times were extremely close as he was just over a tenth of a second back from the 5th spot overall.
By virtue of his qualifying time, Tyler would line up on the Pole Position for his Heat Race. It was a race he would go on to dominate. The Heat Race victory was just the confidence boost that this team was looking for heading into March as they prepare for the West Coast Nationals. The Heat Race Win would lock Tyler into the Main Event.
When the Main Event rolled on to the racing surface Tyler lined up in the 8th starting position. With 25 Laps upcoming, the goal was to log some consistent laps and try to learn from some of the best in the business. At the drop of the Green Flag, Tyler quickly slotted himself into the 7th position on track. Lap #2 though would see the yellow flag fly for Tyler as he spun in Turn #3 after getting into the corner just a little too hot. He would have to restart at the tail of the field in 16th. When the race went back to green, Tyler would roll around at the back of the field for a few laps before another yellow flag flew, this time for another kart. As the laps wore on Tyler would move forward a few positions but would ultimately get tangled up in someone else’s mess in turn one causing his night to come to an end a few laps short. He would end up being scored in the 13th position at the drop of the Checkered Flag.
At the end of the night it was mission accomplished for Tyler as he was able to log a lot of solid laps and gain some knowledge of how the track changes throughout the night. The team is hopeful that they will be able to make it back for the final two Points Races before the West Coast Nationals in Mid March.
None of this would be possible without the support of great sponsors including: Project Filter-Idaho Fights Tobacco, Chris Reeve Knives, ThaiCrazy, Fokus Graphics & Design, ZMAX Racing Oils & Lubricants and Carl’s Cycle Sales.
