TMAC Pleased With Feel of New Car

PETERSEN MEDIA: Though he finished 15th with the World of Outlaws both Friday and Saturday night, Terry McCarl was pleased with the weekend as the Destiny Motorsports team put a new Maxim together and felt good during both night’s of action.

“Our finishes weren’t great on paper, but trying some new things, I felt good and felt like we had pretty good speed with our car right away,” Terry McCarl said.

Friday night at Lakeside Speedway, McCarl timed the MonDak Portables/Ft. Union Supply and Trading/TheSnowPlow.Com entry in 12th fastest in time trials before recording a fourth place finish in heat race competition.

Moving into the feature event, the Altoona, IA driver started 16th, and was able to gain some ground early. Working his way forward, McCarl would find himself up inside the Top-10 at one point in the race.

As thing progressed and the track started to go away, McCarl would start to get loose and would give up a couple of positions as he tried to make grip. McCarl would slip back to 15th to close out the night.

Traveling to Lake Ozark Speedway on Saturday night, TMAC would get the Destiny Motorsports machine timed in 16th quickest, which placed him in the third row of his heat race. Making some moves in the heat, McCarl would slice and dice his way forward as his fourth place finish transferred directly into the Jason Johnson Classic feature event.

Taking the green flag from the 10th starting position, McCarl would run inside the Top 10 for much of the feature as he held down the eighth spot in the running order. Fading a little towards the end of the race, McCarl would cap the weekend out with another 15th place finish.

“I felt like we were in contention to pick up a couple of Top-10’s, but we just faded a little at the end of both races,” McCarl said. “Happy with our start in this new car, and looking forward to going to work again next weekend.”
