Terry McCarl Wins Night Number Two Of The 360’s At East Bay Raceway Park

McCARL WINS NIGHT TWO OF THE THREE DAY KING OF THE 360’S AT EAST BAY AFTER A HARD FOUGHT BATTLE AGAINST TIM SHAFFER FOR THE $2,000 PRIZE LEADING UP TO SATURDAY’S 40TH ANNUAL WINTERNATIONALS PAYING $10,000 TO THE WINNER.

TAMPA, FL….2/19/16…..”T-Mac”. Terry McCarl has fond memories of East Bay Raceway Park in Tampa, Florida. Like the last time he was crowned King of the 360’s in 2006 and there was a pond in the infield and Todd Hutto and Al Varnadore (the promoters at the time) threw him in that pond and he dragged them in with him. “I have a lot of good sponsors from this area, he told track announcer Russ Calabrese, and they have been good to me said the happy driver of the Maxim powered Moyle on Hoosiers.

The start of the 25-lap event was a draw that put Tim Shaffer on the pole with Aaron Reutzel outside him. The second row was occupied by Travis Rilat and Justin Hoffman while McCarl and Robbie Stillwaggon were in row three. Shaffer out pulled Reutzel at the start and stayed ahead but McCarl was up to third by lap three and was leading by lap ten.

Two single car yellows caused on lap 24 by Michael Miller and Thomas Kennedy both on the backstretch were the only pauses in McCarl’s run to the checkered. He was followed by Shaffer, Rilat, Reutzel and Mark Smith in the top five. Chad Kemenah finished in sixth, and Jason Sides, Phil Gressman, Danny Martin,jr. and Justin Hoffman followed in the top ten.

The top six in points after Thursday and Friday are locked in to the 40-lap King of 360’s and they are Tim Shaffer, Terry McCarl, Jason Sides, Chad Kenemah, Travis Rilat and Danny Martin, Jr. The remainder of the field will run heats and B-Mains.
