SANDBERG RECAPTURES THE POINTS LEAD WITH VICTORY
Stan Thompson and Ken Sandberg battled for the lead in the IMCA Sport Compact feature. Behind the leaders, it was a door to door battle for third between points leader Alex Thompson and Paul Schuh. As they raced hard for third, it allowed Stan Thompson and Krys Yost to make it a four car battle. Contact sent Alex Thompson off the backstretch bringing out a yellow flag. Bad luck for the Thompsons as they both went to the pits with mechanical issues. On the restart, Yost slipped into the second position and was all over Sandberg’s bumped. With three laps to go, Yost got off the backstretch which allowed Sandberg to stretch his lead over the field. However, Yost started to reel Sandberg back in. Unfortunately Krys Yost ran out of time as Ken Sandberg crossed the finish line first. Paul Schuh finished third as Nicholas Hoffman held off Jordan Iverson for fourth.
