There were a few witches, ghosts, goblins and more in the crowd for Desoto Speedway's Halloween Spooktacular on Saturday night.
If any of the witches were missing a broom, chances are Duane Campbell had it somewhere in his possession. He would have used it to sweep the three Enduro-style races - something he did with relative ease during this weekend's festivities.
Campbell was pulling away from Justin Ryan and the rest of the field in 35-lap Enduro main event when the red flag came out for Justin Abbott's hard crash in turn three on lap 15.
The red flag allowed Justin Ryan, Bill Osborne and Kris Rummel to restart right on Campbell's rear bumper. Campbell pulled away early in the final stint, but Ryan started closing the gap quickly in the final seven laps. With a handful of laps left Ryan lost considerable time to the leader, which Allowed Campbell to scoot away for the win. Jacob Wozniak finished third.
Later in the evening, Richard Campbell passed Duane Campbell for the lead on the second lap of the 15-lap Enduro Road Course race and looked to run away from the rest of the field. About halfway through the race, Jason Allen hit one of the large tires in the middle of the course and flipped over. Allen walked away – and even celebrated his spectacular crash by doing some push-ups and jumping jacks next to his flipped car. Allen would even continue in the race.
Richard Campbell appeared to be well on his way to victory until he got spun out by Steve Major with just three laps to go. That handed the lead back to Duane Campbell, who drove on to the win. Richard Campbell still finished second despite more contact with Majors in the closing laps. Kris Rummel finished third.
Duane Campbell finished off the sweep with a victory in the 10-lap Flag Pole race.

In other action Saturday night, Mark Burrows won the Semi Stock Demolition Derby; and Joe Lombardi won the Modified Demolition Derby.

Regular racing action returns to Desoto Speedway next Saturday night with the Southern Sprint Car Shootout Series, Sportsman, Pure Stocks, Street Stocks, TQ Midgets, Mini Stocks, Modified Mini Stocks and Bombers.
