Foulger, Sheppard, Short, Biscardi All Take Top Billing at Merced Speedway; Points Finale On Tap Saturday

(PETERSEN MEDIA- Merced, CA)- During Merced Speedway’s penultimate points event last Saturday night, Troy Foulger, Buddy Sheppard, Dwayne Short, and Mark Biscardi were all victorious in their respected to divisions.

Saturday night marked the final points race for the IMCA Mods at Merced Speedway in 2019, and in fitting fashion, Troy Foulger picked up the race win and was also crowned the track’s 2019 Champion. Chasing Foulger across the finish line amidst the 19 drivers checked in for battle were Robby Jeppesen, Mike Villanueva, Ricky Thatcher, and Jim Pettit II.

While Foulger was the division’s titlist, Ryan Porter, Ramie Stone, Jesse Burks (2019 Rookie of the Year), and Bob Williamson all took home Top-5 honors as well.

This night also marked the Hobby Stocks final points race of the season, and in their final feature event it was Buddy Sheppard besting the 18 car field that was checked into the pit area. Nicholas Johnson, Rob Gallaher, Raul Rodriguez Sr, and Austin VanHoff rounded out the Top-5.

In the division’s final point standings, Shannon Nelson was crowned the Champion followed by Michael Shearer, Austin VanHoff, Allen Neal (2019 Rookie of the Year), and Donnie Shearer.

Dwayne Short bested the Valley Sportsman race as he took the checkered flag ahead of Rick Elliot, Gary Hildebrand, Mike Friesen, Jerry Cecil, and Jeff West.

The visiting Dwarf Cars were also in action on this night and with 10 of them on hand, Mark Biscardi picked up the win ahead of Ryan Ameln, Eric Weisler, Trafton Chandler, and Scotty Preast.

This Saturday night four more Champions will be crowned as the IMCA Sport Mods, Valley Sportman, Mini Stocks, and Mini Late Models will all be in action for their final points paying event of the season.

Tickets for Saturday night’s show will be $12 for adults, $10 for seniors, Kids 12 and under will be just $5, and those little ones five and under will be admitted at no cost.

Saturday night the green flags will start to fly at 7pm.
