Sean Becker Wins Thrilling Fall Nationals Opener

Sean Becker Wins Thrilling Fall Nationals Opener

CHICO, CA (9-27-13) - Sean Becker utilized consistency and lapped traffic to snag another victory at the Silver Dollar Speedway. "We had a lot of speed tonight, and I felt really comfortable in the car. I had a lot of fun tonight." stated a very excited Becker in Victory Lane. Other winners during Night Number One of The Fall Nationals include Rowdy McClenon in the Wingless Sprint Cars, and Ryan Mcdaniel in the Dirt Modified division.

Andy Gregg won a very exciting Dash over Andy Forsberg and Sean Becker, which scored him the pole position of the Main Event. Gregg would jump into the lead on the start and would go on to lead the first ten laps before he was caught by Sean Becker in traffic. Sean made a daring move out of turn two and down the back straight to thread the needle between Gregg and a lapped car to take the lead. Becker would lead the next eleven laps with Gregg hounding him in traffic. At times it was Becker, Gregg, Forsberg and Tim Kaeding who charged from 14th all battling for the lead in traffic. Gregg would take the lead on lap 22 but it would last only one lap, as Becker would get back by and pull away to victory aboard the Dan Menne owned #75 machine. Andy Gregg held off a last lap charge on the outside by Tim Kaeding to finish 2nd. Kaeding was as usual, exciting to watch as he charged through the field to finish in the 3rd position. Rico Abreu and Andy Forsberg would round out the top five. Jonathan Allard also deserves to be recognized as he started dead last on the field (24th), and charged through the field to an 8th place finish. Justyn Cox bested the field of 46 cars in qualifying with a blistering time of 12.134. Heat race victories were claimed by Princeton's Mason Moore; Sacramento's Billy Butler; Quilcene, Washington's JJ Hickle in his first trip to the Silver Dollar Speedway; and Napa's Kirt Organ.

In the Wingless Sprint Car Division Rowdy McClenon took the lead on lap three from Dustin Thompson and wouldn't look back. Rowdy held off a late race charge by Colton Slack to win the opening night of Fall Nationals. The race was ended under caution as the yellow flag flew on the white flag lap and the officials decided to call the race. Heat Race action saw an interesting moment, when on the start of the first heat race Angelique Bell would spin in front of the field collecting all but three cars in the Heat. After being involved in the incident and going to the work area, Colton Slack picked up the Heat Race win. Heat Race number two was claimed by Johnny Burns. A total of Fifteen cars were on hand for night number one.

Ryan and Randy McDaniel have been dominant names not only at the Silver Dollar Speedway but all over the west coast. And that was the case again tonight. The McDaniel family switched rides for the evening and Ryan came away the winner in the 10x car. Ryan led every lap of the Main Event en route to victory. Father, Randy hounded Ryan for the final part of the race waiting for the mistake that never happened. Randy McDaniel would hang on to a 2nd place finish. Ryan and Randy were followed across the line by Duane Cleveland in 3rd, Dan Dozier in 4th, and Mark Abouzeid in 5th. Heat Race victories were claimed by Randy McDaniel and Raymond Lindeman. A total of Seventeen Modifieds were on hand tonight.

Night Number One of The Fall Nationals is in the books and it was an exciting one. Tomorrow night is sure to be no slouch as well. More cars are expected to be on hand and the action will be heating up as the drivers all do battle to earn the title of Fall Nationals Champion. Who will it be? There's only one way to find out.
