Inside Line Promotions – WAYNESFIELD, Ohio (May 29, 2018) – A late-race charge in the A Main at Fremont Speedway last Saturday night highlighted three nights of racing in Ohio last weekend for Alex Hill.

Hill started the feature in the 19th position before challenging for ninth late in the race.

“I changed my line with about five laps to go,” she said. “I moved higher on the track and started running into the turns harder. I was racing for ninth with a lap to go when I ran out of tear-offs because the track was really tacky. I had trouble seeing and dropped back to 12th at the finish.

“It was a good night. I raced at Fremont quite a bit before in the 305 so we’re pretty familiar with that track.”

Hill’s racing weekend began the previous night at Limaland Motorsports Park in Lima, where she transferred through the B Main before finishing 16th in the A Main.

“We didn’t do too well early in the night, but got it going a bit in the B,” she said. “I struggled all weekend with qualifying. The car was good in the A Main, but I just didn’t move forward much.”

The final leg of the weekend tripleheader was Sunday at Waynesfield Raceway Park, where it began well for Hill before ending on a sour note.

“We were really fast in the heat,” she said. “I was able to pass three cars to go from seventh to fourth and make the transfer to the A Main. Unfortunately, I got punted from behind on the second lap of the A Main and flipped, which ended our night.”

With the Lucas Oil ASCS National Tour presented by Sawblade.com off again this weekend, Hill is planning to compete on Saturday at Knoxville Raceway in Knoxville, Iowa, where she has been involved in vicious crashes her last two appearances there. Hill suffered a concussion in a crash at Knoxville Raceway last May. She was sidelined from racing for almost two months and was also involved in a violent multi-car crash at the 360 Knoxville Nationals in August.

“Knoxville is still one of my favorite tracks and I’m looking forward to racing there this week,” she said. “I’m just hoping to have a little better luck there this time than the last two times.”
