Felker Remaining Busy Despite a Month Off From Racing

Inside Line Promotions – TULSA, Okla. (Oct. 22, 2013) – While he isn’t set to compete again until the middle of November, Andrew Felker continues to stay busy.

Last Sunday he and a handful of other midget competitors tackled Port City Raceway – a noted micro sprint track – to see if it would be suitable to host a midget race next season.

“It went really good,” he said. “The track was really wide. They moved their infield tires in and built a berm lower for the midgets. Hopefully they can build a pretty good show for next year.”

Felker’s next task is to finish preparing the three cars out of the Felker stable for the Chili Bowl in January.

“We’ve got two of them and are getting ready to pick up the third one to put it together,” he said. “We just sold one of our cars so we’re kinda in a scramble before we head out west. We’re going to be thrashing until the last minute before we head to Canyon.”

Felker is also finalizing details for a racing trip to Australia, which is set to begin the Monday following the Chili Bowl. He is scheduled to compete in six midget races during a three-week period.

“I raced in Australia in 2012 and am excited to return,” he said. “We’ve got a lot of different things we’re working on since we have a couple of weeks off, but I’m definitely ready to get back to the track.”
