Inside Line Promotions – PORT ROYAL, Pa. (June 7, 2017) – Dylan Cisney continues to heat up as the summer nears.

Cisney charged from 14th to earn a third-place result last Saturday at Port Royal Speedway, where he took over the lead in the championship standings thanks to his second consecutive podium finish.

“Everything is going good,” he said. “We’ve been carrying momentum off our win (last month at Lernerville Speedway in Sarver, Pa.). That took us to the points lead at Port Royal. There’s a long way to go so we’ll have to keep going with good finishes and top threes.”

Last Saturday’s show began with Cisney advancing from eighth to seventh place during a heat race. That lined him up on the outside of the seventh row for the main event at the half-mile oval.

“The track was real tricky,” he said. “It was real dirty. It was hard to get a hold of anything. We underestimated how dry the track would be and didn’t get the car good enough to move forward in the heat race. We threw a bunch of changes at it for the feature and guessed right. We got the car right when it mattered.”

Cisney methodically maneuvered his way to third after winning some great battles on the track.

“We had some good races between me and T.J. Stutts and Doug Esh,” he said. “Once we got into third we were riding the last couple of laps. We were tracking down the leaders, but ran out of laps.”

It marked the second straight podium finish at Port Royal Speedway for Cisney, who scored a career-best third-place result at the track during the famed Weikert Memorial on May 29.

“The Weikert was a great weekend,” he said. “The car was good every time it was on the track.”

Cisney qualified fifth quickest overall before he finished fourth in a heat race to make the dash during the opening night of the event on May 27. He picked up a position in the dash to place seventh and he gained a position in the main event to end sixth.

The strong performance continued the following night when Cisney timed in third quickest before maneuvering from fourth to win a heat race. Rain postponed the remainder of the night to May 29, when Cisney rallied from sixth to third place in the dash to start the main event on the inside of the second row.

“We didn’t push it hard the whole race,” he said. “We got into second right away and I was just waiting to make my move. When I started moving around trying to get the lead is when Lucas (Wolfe) got us both.”

Cisney’s third-place finish was his fifth top five of the season.

“That’s huge for us,” he said. “That’s a big race and it’s our best finish ever in that race. That’s always good when you go to a big race and finish better than you ever have. We’ll just keep that momentum going.”

Cisney is scheduled to return to action this Saturday at Port Royal Speedway.
