Scotty Thiel - Wins Wipperfurth Memorial at Beaver Dam!

A cold Saturday night of racing took place at the Beaver Dam Raceway in Beaver Dam, WI for the Wipperfurth Memorial event. Scotty would start on the outside front row of the heat race event after pulling a 9 at the pill draw. Thiel would take the early lead but loose it in turn one with only a few laps to go. He settled in with a second place finish and with the invert would be given an eighth place starting spot for the night's 25 lap A-Main event.

The field bunched up and would take the green flag. Scotty started out to work the high side and made a few passes for position. An early caution would come out and bunch the field back up with the double file restart. Scotty was able to restart on the high side and would make a few passes after take the green flag. With only 8 laps in another caution came out and Thiel was in the fourth position. A red flag came out a few laps later and Thiel would get moved up to the third spot! Time was starting to become an issue so the field got back in order and would go back to take the green flag. Scotty was able to get a good jump and sneak into the second position. Several laps later he would catch the leader and be right on his tail. Both Thiel and the leader worked through traffic and with only two laps to go, Scotty would make the move for the lead! He was faced with two more laps of heavy lap traffic but would manage to sneak around and take home the checkered flag and the Wipperfurth Memorial trophy!

"It was a tough one out there tonight! Track had its rough spots but we managed to get through them. Lap traffic helped to get to Scotty's (Neitzle) bumper but I knew it was going to be hard to get a run to make the pass. Had one opportunity at the end and made it work! Cannot thank my crew enough for all the hard work they put in this operation! Happy we can put the Professional Plating Inc #64 in victory lane tonight!" Scotty expressed after the A-main.

The team has one more stop left on their schedule with the MSA Series which is this coming Saturday at the Dodge County Raceway in Beaver Dam, WI.
