Mid-Race Issues End Paul McMahan’s Night Early

PETERSEN MEDIA: Dodging storms on the East Coast, Paul McMahan and the Destiny Motorsports team were able to sneak in a race on Saturday night in Fulton, NY. Though the night was going well, a mid-race issue would end the night early.

“We had a good car, and I just flat made a mistake and it bent up some parts in the front end,” Paul McMahan said.

Timing the MonDak Portables/Ft. Union Supply and Trading/Rick Rogers Construction No. 7 entry in 21st fastest in time trials, McMahan would have a very impressive heat race that saw him work his way forward from sixth to finish in the third spot.

Moving to the feature event, McMahan would grid the field from the ninth starting position for the 30-lap ‘A’ Main event. When the action came to life, the Hendersonville, TN driver would slowly work his way forward as he would settle into the seventh spot.

On the race’s 14th lap, McMahan would brush an infield barrier as he worked the bottom of the speedway, and would cause damage to the front end of his machine. With little to no time in the work area, McMahan’s night would come to a close.

“I feel bad for the guys,” McMahan said. “They really have been working so hard, and you hate to make a mistake and end a good night. It has been a tough year, but we will keep fighting during these final races.”

Destiny Motorsports would like to thank MonDak Portables, Ft. Union Supply and Trading, Rick Rogers Construction, Maxim Chassis, Boss Signs and Graphics, Driver Websites, Petersen Media, FK Rod Ends, KSE Racing Products, ButlerBuilt, Simpson Race Products, Keizer Wheels, DMI, Red Devil Brakes, Champion Oil, All Pro Cylinder Heads, Astro Titanium, and Hoosier Tire for their continued support.
