Troutman follows Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series to Land of Lincoln

Continuing his hunt for Rookie of the Year, Drake Troutman followed the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series to Farmer City (Ill.) Raceway on Friday afternoon for the $25,000-to-win Farmer City 74.

With 55 Super Late Model checked in, Troutman recorded a strong lap in qualifying before following that up with a heat race victory. Starting third in the 74-lap main event, Drake faded throughout the lengthy feature and wound up outside the Top-10 in 14th.

For Saturday's $30,000-to-win Spring Shootout at Fairbury (Ill.) Speedway, Troutman needed a provisional to start the 60-lap main event and pulled off early to record a 27th-place finish.

Troutman is currently 15th in the overall point standings and runner-up in the Rookie of the Year chase.
